Bushcraft fun

August 25, 2008 at 4:41 pm (Events) (, , , , , )

From Saturday the 11th to Sunday the 12th of October, Tribe Soc will hold its anual Bushcraft weekend.

This exciting weekend away will be held in the countryside of Kingston in Hereford, and will be tailor made to Tribe Soc’s needs by Pete Edwards.

Saturdays adventures will include fire lighting, shelter construction, and general bushcraft.

Weather dependent we can either experience the night outdoors, in the very shelters we have built in the day, or the warm and dry building which will be our back up.

Sunday will be a more relaxed day, with games and general merryment.

Everyone is invited to come, and the cost will not be astronomical (we will basically be paying for petrol and the food we eat – thats it, in his infinite kindness Pete has offered us everything for free).

Rumble in the Jungle returns

August 4, 2008 at 8:58 pm (Events) (, , , , , )

Rumble in the Jungle is back early this year, with an extra club night before Freshers Week.

Tribe Soc will have a stall and be bucket shaking to raise much needed money for the indigenous tribe of Ecuador; the Huaorani.  The dosh raised will go towards making a mapping project possible, which would secure land ownership for the Huaorani Tribe.  This much needed if they are to be kept safe from loggers, ranchers, oil drillers and all the other threats which face them.

Last term we had a hugley sucessful night, and raised £100 in bucket shaking, glow stick sales, and vodka jellys alone.

Even more, everyone that came had an awesome night.

So anyone that can make it, please do come down, if you need to contact me my e-mail is fowles@care2.com and i’d be delighted to hear  from you.

Or you can leave a comment on the site.

Rumble in the Jungle Festival

April 25, 2008 at 12:23 am (Events) (, , , , , )

Rumble in the Jungle has been a club night held anually at the Custard Factory for several years now.

Its always been a great success both because everybody going has had an awesome time, and also because it raises thousands of pounds for a small, local charity in Ecuador which is dedicated to saving the lives of and incredible tribe there; the Huaorani.

This year Rumble in the Jungle will be bigger and better than ever before, as this year, for the first time, Rumble in the Jungle has become a Festival.

Tribe Soc has been given a room in the Custard factory for this, to decorate, and provide all the entertainment in! Steve (the ex-president and founder of Jab Soc) is organising the line up, and its looking good!!!
