What’s Tribe Soc about?

Tribe Soc is a University Society intended to provide students with an insight into the lives of indigenous tribal peoples, as well as the chance to make a real difference in saving them, their
homes, and their cultures.

We are a friendly bunch and we’ll welcome everyone.  There are so many different ways to get involved that what ever your good at, what ever you love,  we should find a way to incorporate it.  Even if you don’t know what you love come along just to see if you enjoy it, you don’t need to be good at anything to have fun!

If you love the outdoors our outdoor events where you can learn bush craft,  enjoy festivals and much more…   are for you!

If you love to chat and socialise with new people you’ll love our awesome Fund-raising events where you’ll not only have a brilliant time, but you’ll also gain valuable experience and provide the money to make vital, life saving campaigns and changes possible.

If your good at writing letters we’d love for you to write to governments and other people in power informing them of what they can do to halt the destruction of tribal people.  Not only is it quite exciting to correspond with people in so much power (and many of them do write back), but it will develop excellent and transferable skills, which will sound awesome in your CV.

If you enjoy designing posters that’s awesome, something that catches a passer byes eye might just influence them to look in to something they’d never thought to look at before. It could just spark an interest in tribal peoples in a new person, and raising the public status of the situation of tribal peoples is a big thing.

If you enjoy designing rooms there’ll be an opportunity every-time we use a venue; be it to fund-raise or to raise awareness.  Every empty room is a blank canvas…

If you’re imaginative fresh ideas are exactly what we need, and believe me; watching your own idea come to life is a cool experience!

If you just wanna come along and see what we’re like, awesome!  We’d love to meet you, and if you never say ‘hi’ you’ll never know us.  We won’t shout at you if your late, or if you have to go early, or if life gets to busy and you don’t get chance to come often; its Uni and we’re students too, we’ll understand.  Come down whenever you can, have an awesome time, meet some lovely people, and save the world while you’re at it!  Now you can’t say fairer than that 😉

Check out ‘events’  under the catagories heading on the right hand side of this page to see what we’re doing next 😀
